As Meera reaches this age all that comes to mind is that pretty soon she's gonna turn 1! Can't believe how fast time flies. I seem to say this all the time nowadays!
This latest month came with a lot of new developments. Meera started walking. She also cut her first tooth. Although it hasn't really come out all the way, I can definitely see a bit of the front left tooth making its appearance. Don't know when the whole tooth will come out though...
She's been sick the past few days; and with that has had to take her first course of antibiotics. Poor thing had a really high fever followed by a terrible cough. Started in Penang so our trip this time was not as great as our previous one. We even had to visit the pediatrician while we were there. So we also got an official weight measurement: she now weighs 9.5 kg.
Recently she has started to sleep on her own. By that I mean I no longer need to rock her to sleep. I have actually been trying to do this for a while now. I would sometimes just put her in her crib to see if she could sleep but till recently she would always cry and so I would rock her to sleep. I didn't really mind rocking her since it she'd usually sleep off within 5-10 minutes. But at the same time I did not want to have to rock her as she got older (and heavier). Well, on the 9th I was feeling a bit tired and she was a bit fussy so when it came to nap time for some reason it seemed like I was rocking a lot longer than usual. So after a while I just left her in her crib and stepped out to get a breather. Miraculously, she slept! The following nap, I simply kissed her cheek, said goodnight and left. And she slept! I can hardly believe it but that's how it's been ever since. So no more rocking. Sometimes I miss holding her when she's asleep but then I look ahead to the time when she weighs a lot more and figure out I'm lucky she doesn't need me to rock her anymore. So it's a mixed blessing I guess...
