Misha: 13 months

I've decided to do monthly posts from now on....

Signing
26/8/2014 I notice she is attempting to do more signs now. She does it but seems a bit random to me. She can sign...milk, finish (all done), more.
She has also started to wave hi and bye more consistently. Tonight when I brought her upstairs she waved bye to Meera as we were going up.

Eating
She is very keen to eat the stuff that we are eating. Whenever we sit down to eat she will start to say 'eat' and hang around the table. If we are eating out and she is on her high chair she gets quite loud and insistent. I am starting to let her try a bit of our food. Sometimes it's a bit difficult since our food is not exactly esay for her to chew but she does try....
Started giving her fresh milk (slowly increasing to 3 oz.) in a straw cup with breakfast. I gave up on the doidy cup...she was doing quite well with it but I realise she can't manage it on her own so switched to the straw cup instead. There's some spills (sometimes she sucks and forgets to swallow so it dribbles out...lol) but its slowly improving.

But once she got the cold I stopped (worried the milk was causing her flu...).

Solids weet-bix, cheese
Jing got a box of the kid version from Australia (less salt and sugar) so I've started giving her that for breakfast. She can eat 1 of it with banana and yogurt or milk.
While she was sick she was eating less (and I think she lost a bit of weight too). But recently I have started giving her 7 oz. of porridge and she can finish it.
I also got some cheese sticks for her and she seems to like that.
I've also tried giving her rice instead of porridge (really soft). Instead of cooking with the slow cooker I steamed everything in the rice cooker.

Milestones
She can stand on her own (for a few seconds). Still resisting all attempts to hold her hand to walk. She prefers to push the chair and walk.

I got the Dear Zoo book recently and she spent quite a long time trying to open the flaps.

She can point to 'jie jie' and daddy. Still working on mommy....
She also likes to point at things and I think she wants me to name them for her. She kinda says sometimes that sounds like 'what's that?'. It comes of like 'unh unh' but the tone of it is like when I say 'what's that?' so I just tell her what it is. Sometimes she will point at it again and again so I'm not really sure what's going on. Her favourite thing to point at is the air cond and the fan.
I find her mimicking our inflection for a lot of words. It sounds like babble but the tone is similar.

Sick
The past month she got a cold...twice! Luckily no fever but it was quite disruptive. She still slept at night fine but naps were a bit off.

Naps
Quite often she is only taking one nap a day. Typically she will take a really long morning nap and then in the afternoon it takes a really long time for her to nap (and since we have to go fetch Meera it usually doesn't happen). I think I have to start shortening her morning naps (but I hate having to wake her up from them).

Teething
Her fifth tooth appeared (top left 2nd front tooth). So now she's got 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom.

Vaccination
This month she had 3 jabs! MMR at the Klinik Kesihatan. Then pneumoccocal and chicken pox. She had fever for 1 day (quite high...which I think was from the chicken pox vaccine). I'm wondering if maybe all the jabs lowered her immunity and that's why she was sick a lot...
